Neurological diseases are caused by abnormalities in the brain, spinal cord, nerves or even the neurotransmitter system.  This can happen to dogs at any age, not only in later life.  Hydrocephalus condition can be found in puppies.  Epilepsy can be seen in dogs at the age between 2 to 6 years.  Cognitive dysfunction is closely linked to brain disease in dogs in later life.  These 3 examples emphasize that neurological diseases can happen to pets at any age in different scenarios and with different symptoms.

If one of these symptoms such as abnormal gait, improper balance, paralysis, unusual level of consciousness and seizure are observed, 

it is important to seek medical advice from veterinarians for immediate treatment to prevent the condition from worsening.
